Sensei Junior Robert McInnes
Seminars and Camps
Sensei Junior McInnes regularly runs seminars around the world focused on one thing: making karate work in real situations. His teaching bridges traditional karate with modern stand-up combat sports—boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and full-contact rules—so students understand not only what to do, but why it works. A major part of Junior’s method is his footwork system: a movement style that mirrors boxing and blends seamlessly with other striking disciplines. This helps fighters and martial artists see the true connections between contact sports, and—most importantly—how to cross-train correctly without losing the identity of their base style. When he’s not coaching teams for major karate tournaments in Japan, or working with elite fighters such as Tyson Fury, Junior travels internationally to visit Shorin Kempo and WKO dojos across the globe. There, he teaches the Shorin Kempo system with an emphasis on practicality, timing, distance, and real fighting application—bringing “Old School” principles into a modern training environment. Whether it’s a seminar, a dojo visit, or a high-performance fight camp, Junior’s mission stays the same: sharpen technique, upgrade movement, and build fighters who can perform under real pressure.
